Bac Ninh's Festivals

 

Phat Tich Pagoda Festival (4th – 5th of the 1st Lunar month)

 

In order to honor the excellence of King Ly Thanh Tong, this festival is celebrated at Phat Tich Pagoda every spring season. Joining this festivals, all pilgrims have chance to worship Buddha, listen to bonzes praying and also pray for happiness and safety. Moreover, some are fascinated to the sightseeing around the historical remains and beautiful landscape of the Kinh Bac area.

 

Do Temple Festival (15th – 19th of the 3rd Lunar month)

 

Do Temple is a beautiful temple which is widely known as the worshipping of the eight emperors of the Ly Dynasty. Annually, Do Temple Festival is solemnly organized to commemorate achievements of these eight Ly Kings during five days from 15th to 19th of the 3rd lunar month. The day when King Le Thai To ascended the throne – 16th of 3rd lunar month - was chosen the main festive day. Coming to this festival at Do Temple, tourists can experience many traditional folk games such as releasing pigeons, fighting cocks, and wrestling as well as enjoy listening to Quan Ho singing.

 

Dong Ho Painting Village Festival (4th – 7th of the 1st lunar month)

 

This festival is yearly hold from 4th to 7th of the 1st lunar month at Dong Ho Communal House. The festival describes the characteristics of Dong Ho skilled painting village. This occasion also offer a chance for village people to sell their native products and folk paintings at communal house. Most of tourists coming to this festival are generous to buy these products and paintings for their relatives and friends.

 

Lim Festival (11th - 13th of the 1st lunar month)

 

Annually, thousands of people are eager to take part in Lim Festival of Bac Ninh Province. Tourists have chance to experience the life style of the northern countries of Vietnam together with listening to “Quan Ho” – a traditional folk art performance of Vietnam.
