Phu The Cake - a famous specialty of Bac Ninh

When mentioning the province of Bac Ninh, it can not be ignored Phu The Cake – one of the traditional cake of Vietnam. This conjugal cake is the specialty of Dinh Bang Village, Bac Ninh Province. It symbolizes the faithful of husband and wife.  Perhaps that is the reason why this cake has the special name “Phu The” (in Chinese-Vietnamese language, “phu” means husband and “the” means wife). Nowadays, Phu The cakes are still an essential part of a wedding banquet, or the gift packages that the groom's family send over to the bride's.

With the aim of serving the best conjugal cakes for tourists (especially foreign tourists), the makers have to prepare and select the ingredients carefully as well as pay much attention in cooking process.
