How to get to Sapa

By train:

You can take a train from Hanoi Railway Station to Lao Cai Railway Station.

From Lao Cai to Sapa, you can go either by minibuses (mentioned below or hire a motorbike with reasonable price)

Tips:

If you would like to enjoy the scenery on the way from Hanoi to Lao Cai and vice versa, you should take a day train. However, if you want to save energy and save time, you should take a night train since it would save you half a day.

 

By Bus & Minibus

Daily Buses transfer between Hanoi and Lao Cai takes you about 10 hours.

Minibuses run regularly between Sapa and Lao Cai from 5.00am to 5.00pm.

Minibuses from Lao Cai to Bac Ha leaves three times daily.

Minibuses from Sapa to Bac Ha for Sunday market run at 6.00am and from Bac Ha to Sapa at 1.00pm.
