Xuan Huong Lake lies right in the center of Dalat City. This is an artificial lake of 5 square kilometers shaped like crescent moon. The surrounding pine trees combined with the paths full of fir trees make Xuan Huong Lake and its landscape more charming. Historically, this lake is just a spring run through the valley. The French named it Grand Lac. The name Xuan Huong is given to it in 1953 by Mr. Nguyen Vy, the chairman of Dalat poetry Council. The Lake has become the destination for a large number of tourists as it is often compared to as the heart of Dalat city. Tourists coming to Dalat can visit Xuan Huong Lake through many activities like strolling around the lake with a horse-cart, staying in a café and observe the ordinary daily life as well as the peaceful landscape. Additionally, you can also take a boat to row within the lake to enjoy the coldness of this highland. Valley of Love is 5 kilometers to the north of Dalat city center. The Valley is surrounded by green pine forests all year round. Formerly, the French named it the “Valley d’Amour”. It has been the destination for couples and also for people who would like to explore the beautiful and charming landscape that the nature has blessed this region. Valley of Love is featured with evergreen grass fields, the lake looks like a small dragon covering continuous hills full of green pine trees. In this complex, Dia Dang Garden is the ideal place created by transparent lake. Standing on top of the hills, you will realize that the Valley of Love is an aquarelle picture painted by a skillful artist who has applied bright gamut to set up a charming and attractive landscape.

Lake of Sigh is located 6 kilometer to the east of Dalat City. The lake attracts visitors not only for its beauty but also for sad and meaningful stories that is attached to it. The Lake of Sigh lies on a high hill in a quiet forest. The surrounding landscape is peaceful and a little bit quiet. There seem to be only the sound of the wind like the sound of sighing, sobbing. The pine tree forest around Lake of Sigh is likely to be more beautiful than that of other places since they are higher and grow more evenly. An old story goes that this Lake is attached with the love story of Hoang Tung and Mai Muong. It happened in the 18^th century when the hero Nguyen Hue set up a revolution against the Thanh invader. Men in many areas took part in the revolution in order to fight against the invader and so did Hoang Tung. Before leaving, Hoang Tung and Mai Nuong met at the Lake of Sigh. He promised to come back in spring upon the victory. After that, it was said that Hoang Tung had died. Mai Nuong was too sad; she decided to suicide in the Lake of Sigh. Unfortunately, in the middle of spring, Hoang Tung came back and was very disappointed. At last, he also died by the Lake of Sigh to show his love for Mai Nuong. Since then, the Lake has the name “Lake of Sigh”.

Dalat Flower Garden is situated at No. 2 Phu Dong Thien Vuong Street. This may be compared to as a museum of flowers of Vietnam with many species of precious flowers. It is established in 1966 and recovered in 1985 to plant new species of flowers. This area is the home to more than 300 species of flowers among which there are hundred species of flowers like rose, orchid, mimosa, gladiolus, chrysanthemum, etc. which bloom all year round. Visiting this area, you will have chance to get to know about new species. Especially, this would be a precious opportunity for those who love biology. Lam Dong province Museum is situated on a high hill at No. 4 Hung Vuong Street, about 3 km to the northeast of Dalat City. Visiting this museum, you will see lots of local traditional and historical items, especially the items which represent the cultural tradition of Lam Dong province.
