Dau Go Grotto represents an ancient architecture complex with many stalactites and stalagmites rising up high. The Grotto also comprises a diversified flora and fauna system; this is a different feature compared to other grottos and caves in Ha Long. The Grotto is divided into three main compartments. The exterior compartment is so clear with natural light. Its ceiling looks like a huge oil painting reflecting wild natural landscape with colorful forest of stalactites and stalagmites. To reach to this Grotto, tourists have to pass through scarped rock steps under the forest just like you are climbing up a mountain. There are two main compartments. The first one is large as a theatre with lots of stalactites and stalagmites on the ceiling (which are often imagined like the luster). The blocks of rock, under the skilful hand of the nature, are shaped like the animals, trees, flowers; all of them are welcoming visitors to a place of both real and unreal. The second compartment opens with much surprise. The colorful bright light fulfills the huge space with completely different view. The deeper you get inside, the more interesting things you will catch. The strange shapes of the rock look like a big banian tree, a dinosaur or a bear, etc. A “royal garden” will appear when you reach the highest peak of the Grotto. A charming natural landscape painting with lake, various species of plants, birds and animals is the place where the monkeys often find their foods. The natural light combined with the lighting system set up by human being has made Sung Sot Grotto more charming.
Each cave or grotto in Ha Long Bay is also attached with an old legends or story. That has made your journey more meaning full and interesting. Those are just several caves and grottos to be named. Around them, there are many others namely Bo Nau, Trinh Nu, Luon, Hanh, etc. If you have chance to visit Ha Long Bay, the cave and grotto system may be your preferential choice.
