Truc Lam Zen Buddhist Temple is situated on Phung Hoang Mountain, next to the lake of Tuyen Lam, about 4km from Dalat city. This Buddhist pagoda is established by a Buddhist named Thich Thanh Tu in 1993 with the total area of 24 hectares. The architecture style of this site is the harmonious combination of the ancient and modern pattern. This is considered the largest Buddhist Pagoda of the country in terms of space and scale although it does not possess an antique and splendid beauty as others. The presbytery of the Pagoda worships Thich Ca Buddha. Outside is a solemn tower with a bell which is 1.98 meters high and 1.1 ton inside. Truc Lam Buddhist Pagoda contains more than 100 Buddhist monks and nuns and many Buddhists who come from many regions of the country. This is a big pagoda and also an ideal tourist attraction when visiting Dalat due to its convenient location – looking over Tuyen Lam Lake, Elephant Mountain. Additionally, the city also comprises a large number of pagodas like Linh Quang, Ngoc Tin, etc which can be combined with Truc Lam Buddhist Pagoda to form a religious tour for visitors who want to learn about the special architecture style.
Linh Phuoc Pagoda is located at No. 120 Tu Phuoc, about 8 kilometers to the southeast of Dalat. This Pagoda was constructed by some Buddhist followers coming from Thua Thien Hue from 1949. Since 1990, people have known of this sacred place with special architecture pattern. Until now, there are many other constructions to be built, among which the Long Hoa Garden is considered the most impressive. This shaped a dragon which is 49 meters long bending around Di Lac Buddha. A special feature is that the dragon’s scales are made from the shatters of 50 000 glass bottles of beer. Visiting Linh Phuoc Pagoda, tourists will have chance to experience the wonderful architecture constructions like the presbytery which possesses unique and special architecture style. Along the two side of the presbytery are the pillars skillfully sculptured and decorated. In front of Long Hoa Garden located the Linh Tower of 36 meters high with 7 floors (it is regarded as the highest tower in Dalat). This place worships the Buddha and is also considered a museum. Visiting the Pagoda, you will see how carefully and precisely it is designed and arranged.
Linh Son Pagoda is situated on a large hill on Nguyen Van Troi Street, about 700 meters to the northwest of Dalat city. The Pagoda is constructed from 1936 and completed in 1940 with a plain East Asia architecture style. The surrounding landscape there is peaceful and solemn with high pine trees. Right in front of the ground located the statue of Quan The Am standing on a lotus-shaped tower. On the left hand side is a octagonal three-floor tower, and on the right side are artificial mountains in miniature decorated with ornamental plants. There is also a lake dotted with water-lilly flowers and pretty fishes. If you walk inside the pagoda, you will see the sacred arrangement of the Buddha’s Court Hall. The Thich Ca Mau Ni Buddha is worship in the presbytery. This statue is made from bronze and created in 1952. Besides, the Pagoda also has souvenir stores where you can buy small gifts for your friends and relatives. The Lam Dong’s Buddhism’s Board of management is also located there.
Linh Phong Pagoda (the Pagoda for female Buddhist monks)is situated on Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Dalat City. With the total area of 400 square meters, the Pagoda is divided into 5 compartments with the architecture style of village halls in the Center of Vietnam. It is built in 1944 on a high and small mountain. From 1948 to 1962, the Elderly female bonze named Thích Nữ Từ Hương upgraded the Pagoda to a solemn and marvelous one as we see today. The presbytery worships A Di Đà Buddha of 1,8 meters high. Behind the Pagoda, there is a small tower which is located on the hill. That is a hexagonal three-floor high tower where the Elderly female bonze will be interred when she dies.
Thien Vuong Co Sat Pagoda (also called Phat Tram Pagoda, Tau Pagoda)is located on the Dragon Hill at No 385, Khe Sanh Street, about 5km to the northeast of Dalat City. This Pagoda follows the Huê Nghiêm Buddha sect of China. It is constructed in 1958 by a bonze named Tho Da. In 1989, Sir Le van Canh started to upgrade this pagoda. You can see many Buddha statues inside the Pagoda. Right at the center of Tu Ton Bao Court Hall is the statue of Di Lac Buddha of 2,5 meters high and Thich Ca Buddha of 0,5 meter high. Four corners are four statues of 2,6 meters high made of cement. Passing through a small ground, you will reach Minh Quang Court Hall where statues which are made from tram wood are situated.
