  Bai Dinh Pagoda Festival

  In spring, millions of Buddhists from different parts of the country come to Hoa Lu ancient capital to take part in Bai Dinh Pagoda festival. Bai Dinh Pagoda comprises many pagodas which are located on Bai Dinh Mountain, in Gia Sinh commune (Gia Vien). This pagoda complex occupies ancient pagodas and new pagodas which are constructed in 2003. Bai Dinh Pagoda lies within Hoa Lu ancient capital historical tourist site which have obtained many Vietnam records like: the largest pagoda complex in Vietnam (107 hectares); biggest copper Buddhist Statue in Southeast Asia (Nhu Lai Buddhist Statue of 100 ton, three Tam The Statues of 50 ton each); two biggest bells in Southeast Asia (36 and 27 ton); the pagoda also possesses many La Han Statues which are the biggest ones in Vietnam, etc. and many other records.

  Truong Yen Festival

  Truong Yen Festival is celebrated annually from 9th to 11st of lunar March in Truong Yen Commune, Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh province. The main ceremony takes place on March 10th since it is said that Le Dai Hanh King was enthroned as the King of ancient Dai Co Viet country on this day. There are two solemn ceremonies: greeting ceremony and worshiping ceremony.
